INDIA-QUEBEC CROSS-RESIDENCY
CALL FOR PROJECTS for a Residency at Darling Foundry, Quebec (Canada) from 1st October 2015 to 3rd December 2015

In 2012, the Darling Foundry established its first India-Québec Cross-Residency Program to benefit artists from its respective counterparts. With Indian partners, What About Art? and Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, as well as Quebec partners, Tata Steel and the Chadha Family Foundation, the Darling Foundry is pleased to launch its third edition. Applications for projects produced by Indian artists will be open. The chosen artist will be immersed into the dynamic Montreal artistic scene for nine weeks, from October 1st to December 3rd,  2015.
                                  
The program offers a residency at the Darling Foundry for professional visual artists, Indian citizens residing in India, under the age of 35. One artist will be awarded a nine-week residency and will receive a grant that contributes toward living expenses, travel fees and production costs.
The Darling Foundry aims to be an alternative, professional complex devoted to visual artists and their supporters. With an outstanding architectural design, The Darling Foundry, located in an old industrial neighborhood of Montreal, offers various opportunities for research, creation, production, and exhibition. Its multifaceted spaces include room for private studios, residencies, workshops, art galleries, a restaurant and offices over a 3500 m2 surface.
A studio plus a separate living accommodation as well as common areas are provided. Artists have access to wood and metal workshops, with technical assistance if need be. In addition, each artist is given the option to participate in open studio events, studio visits by art professionals, networking events, and excursions.
The residency includes:                      
-Airfare (max CAN$ 1,500)
-A live-in studio for 9 weeks from October 1st  to December 3rd 2015
-A stipend of CAN$ 2875 (approximately CAN$ 300 per week)
-A production grant of a maximum of CAN$ 500

Applicants interested in the residency program may submit a complete application form including support materials to the address below. We will not accept applications postmarked after the deadline date, incomplete, or submitted by fax or email. The results will be announced by email on 31st August 2015.

The Djerassi Resident Artist Program has awarded over 2500 writers, visual/media artists, composers, choreographers, filmmakers, and scientists for the past 41 years the gift of time and space with a one-month residency on our 583-acre ranch in Northern California's Santa Cruz Mountains.
