The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is now accepting applications for the 2019 session of The Alfred and Trafford Klots International Program for Artists in Brittany, France.

The selection committee seeks four to eight artists whose mix of media, approaches, styles and focus will create a dynamic and collegial community. The residency is open to all practicing visual artists regardless of affiliation or citizenship who are not students at the time of application.

Session dates: Saturday, June 1 to July 27, 2019
Application deadline: February 1, 2019
Awards announced: March 1, 2019

The eight-week Alfred and Trafford Klots International Program for Artists is held in the medieval riverside village of Léhon, which is graced by a medieval abbey, gardens and the ruins of the oldest fortress in Brittany on a hill overlooking the village. Léhon is a short walk from the city of Dinan, which holds the coveted designation "Cité d'Art et d'Histoire," and is close to Dinard, St. Malo, Mont Saint Michel and Rennes. The fishing villages and beaches of the Emerald Coast are also nearby. Our artists have free access to the Léhon abbey and its gardens.

Competitive residencies are open to all practicing non-student visual artists and artist-couples (both must be accepted). In particular, we are looking for artists who can use the specific character of our residency experience productively.

Open Call for Artists (Winter 2025-26) Last Ship Art Residency @Khajuraho

Artist in residence: The artist studios of Last Ship are situated opposite the UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho. The Viswanath temple built in 999 AD is right in front, less than 20 meters from Last Ship. Open Call! The Djerassi Program is now accepting applications for 2025 Artists in Residence program until September 12.

The Djerassi Resident Artist Program has awarded over 2500 writers, visual/media artists, composers, choreographers, filmmakers, and scientists for the past 41 years the gift of time and space with a one-month residency on our 583-acre ranch in Northern California's Santa Cruz Mountains. All at no cost to the artists. We offer four and five-week residencies throughout the year across all disciplines: Visual arts, media arts, music composition, choreography, literary arts, and science. Designed as a retreat, the residency provides an environment for personal creative work and fosters collegial interaction within a supportive community of artists.
