Self-directed residency opportunities
If you're seeking self-directed time to complete a project, space away from the day to day, and access to facilities to create and experiment, our Banff Artist-in-Residence (BAiR) program could be perfect for you. 

We offer several options:

Seasonal BAiR
Join us for regular periods of independent studio time in the company of other artists. We are currently accepting applications for:

November 3–December 12
Apply by: May 21

January 19–February 27, 2015
Apply by: June 18 

March 9–April 3, 2015 
Apply by: September 24
A four-week intensive program with the freedom of independent studio research, and the benefits and support of a structured residency. Includes studio visits, presentations, and lectures. Find out more.

Céline Kopp will ask artists to consider questions linked to representation, materiality, and empathy.  Partial scholarship is available.

Dates: November 3–December 12

This program asks indigenous artists to explore the questions informing their practices. Full scholarship is available. 

Dates: January 19–February 27, 2015
Apply by: June 18
Participants will explore concerns such as biodiversity, environmental sustainability, social economy, human rights, and envision a new world of tomorrow. Partial scholarship is available.
